Arthritis Today Magazine

Everyday I learn something new and yesterday was no exception. Yesterday afternoon I went to a newsstand to purchased two copies of CURVE Magazine (one for me and one to mail to my mother in the fabulous state of Connecticut where gay marriage is now legal). There were three copies of CURVE magazine left on the stand and it was placed between Women's Health Magazine and Arthritis Today Magazine.

Wait... Arthritis Today Magazine??? I had no idea that there were such a magazine. I was so shocked that I took a picture of the magazine's cover with my cell phone (even I'm not exactly sure why I did that) So if any of you have arthritis you don't feel alone because there are many other people out there, so many other people that now there is a magazine dedicated to arthritis's treatment and cure.I just want to give a big THANK YOU to the founders of Arthritis Today Magazine- you are making a difference everyday!

p.s. Why is a lesbian magazine placed in the section with the "health" magazines? I always knew that being a lesbian was good for your health. A boobie a day keeps the doctor away! :)

p.p.s. Wait...did I really say boobie? Apparently I'm 6 years old...

It must be weird to buy a magazine that you're on the cover of.

But also kind of awesome.

My question is, when you checked out, did the person at the cash register realise that you were one of the people on the cover of the magazine???

As a chemist, I spend most of my days obssessed with making the best arthritis drugs (when I finally get pulled off fertility medications). Arthritis often gets overlooked, but is terribly painful to have and the medicines often have serious side-effects (hence all the work). Our pharmecutical company subscribes to this magazine, even though it's methods are geared to help the masses, it's always important for those of us working in the labs to understand this persepctive. But as a comedian, I know that perspective is the job requirement and it's nice to see your's rewarded (congrats on the cover, by the way). Unfortunately, the arthritis cure will just take some more time...human biology is just so damn tricky!
