MYSPACE VS FACEBOOK

I'm a big fan of MYSPACE but many of my friends have advised me that MYSPACE is dead and FACEBOOK is the new social networking kid in town. I'm not buying it.

As an ex-outsider I prefer to go against the grain so I'm sticking with my love of MYSPACE and only occasionally chilling with the FB.

What's your preference?

Facebook!...myspace didn't really catch on here in the 3rd world ;p

myspace is not cool because it is too slow. There is too much crap on every page. Every time you clcik on somebody's profile you have to rush to turn down the music that starts playing automatically.
Plus facebook is more "real" there are no skanks on facebook because there is no real possibility to have an alter-ego on there. I haven't got a clue who most of the people are who befriend me on myspace but I have met every single friend on facebook some time in my life.

I prefer neither, but have recently been peer pressured into Facebook.

I find it weird and annoying. E-mail is for friends you don’t like enough to give your phone number to and Facebook is for “friends” you don’t like enough to give your e-mail address to.

I prefer not to choose sides. Im peaceful like that.

I'm on both. Figured, why the heck not.

Though, to be honest -- I'm on facebook more often.

It's just visually prettier.

I'm shallow like that.

I also have both, but I prefer myspace. I agree that there are some people that go overboard with the pictures and everything on myspace, but facebook is just so bland to me. I go on facebook and don't learn anything new about my friends. I just use facebook for mail friends who are opposed to myspace. Myspace's ship might have sailed but it's evolving. I don't see much happening in the way of facebook evolution. I preferred facebook when it was specifically for college students.

Facebook. Without a doubt. I deleted my Myspace profile ages ago. I generally tend to ignore all the requests for applications, etc., and just use Facebook to keep up with all my friends who are spread out far and wide across the country.

I have UNFORTUNATELY caved in and started to use Facebook more often lately. However, I miss Myspace. I like that you can put things on your page on Myspace and they stay there until you take it down. Like a video, or a song. With Facebook, it gets pushed down the page when other things are added to your "wall". I liked to post videos of songs or movie clips, whatever I was feeling on any given day. You can't do that too much on facebook because it doesn't stay up there.

At first Myspace was awesome because it was more about bands being able to promote their music. But then the teens and preteens started having pages and it became their haven.

Now Facebook has risen above and managed to make the complete opposite happen. Facebook seems to have exploded in the world of soccer moms grade school people you have long forgotten. It's a nice idea, and most people are obviously eating it up. But for me, I really don't care to live in the past. I want to live in the present, and think about the future. Why do I care how many kids Jane Doe from 7th grade has now and that she's been divorced 3 times? I don't! Nor do I care if she cares what is going on with my life. Do I sound bitter?? OK I just counted to 10 and i'm better now.

The bottom line is, I spend more time on Facebook these days only because I've gotten used to it. But I miss Myspace, and I think I'm going to go leave you a message on your Myspace just to say hello.

Wow, quite a popular post. I guess everyone has an opinion about the important stuff...

I think they are both old news, and Twitter is the latest cool thing.

MySpace.

I don't get Facebook!!! It just feels really boring. Twitter is more entertaining than Facebook.

So yeah, MySpace.

Oh yeah I forgot about Twitter. That's definitely going to knock Facebook down a few notches. They keep talking about it all over the news (when I happen to catch the news, that is). Twitter is JUST status updates...for now.

I don't like the idea of either. However, I have a facebook at the behest of my sister in law. Now I get to watch video's of my adorable nephews while concurrently dodging friend requests from former high school classmates...heh.
