WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE was on television today- it's a great film if you haven't seen it. After I watched it, I remembered how years ago when I was watching the Academy Awards I saw Leo Dicaprio in the audience and he looked amazing! He looked really really healthy, much healthier than he looked in the film, like no food on his mouth or snot in his nose.
And I actually said out loud, "Wow they nominated the little mentally handicapped boy" (ok let's be honest I probably said "retard" but I fear your judgement).
At the time I didn't realize it was THE Leo, the amazing actor from GROWING PAINS and that he was NOT really mentally retarded...I mean handicapped. I just wanted to say kudos Leo, well done.
I feel a little challenged myself right now.
p.s. don't get mad at me for being UN-PC! It's not my fault- no one told me back then that he wasn't really retarded. :)
p.s.s. I'm donating all proceeds from this blog to the LEO REALLY ACTS LIKE A RETARD FUND.
p.s.s.s. Even I hate myself right now for writing this.

Oh Leo. I wanted to be him when he starred in Titanic...
I totally forgot he was on Growing Pains...
dont feel bad... he dates supermodels
No matter what some people say, I think he knows how to do his job. He was so young in that movie and still he was convincing and so unpredictably talented...
Kudos to ya too Bridget for your latest attendance to the new "walking funny with" v-log. Good job as usual!
Don't feel bad. Retard and retarded are a part of my daily vocabulary. Maybe I shouldn't admit that. Oh well.

I have to say that I found Leo's performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape very compelling. The fantastic job that he did in that film had me thinking that he was a young "mentally challenged actor that was hired for the role; the film came out a few years after the TV show Life Goes On which starred actor Chris Burke as Corky who was a young man with Down syndrome, something that Chris himself lives with, so it wasn't a stretch to think that wow that young mentally challenged kid is
really great in this movie.
