Double Hand Transplant?

A few days ago my favorite website, CNN.COM, posted a news report about a 57-year-old Georgia resident who underwent the first double hand transplant in the United States.

2 hand transplants? I didn't even know that one hand could be transplanted, did you?

Hand transplants, heart transplants, brain surgery...with all the research and technology that has been developed in the last 50 years why are the little things still overlooked?

Like the massive amounts of disgusting pretzels that invade all the yummy bags of Chex Mix or that I can never get cell phone service in Beverly Hills, California!

The cnn.com story is very inspiring but the opening sentence to the article is a little odd, "Jeff Kepner just wanted to hold his 13-year-old daughter's hand".... umm that's kinda creepy.

I love my dad but I don't need to hold his hand. Well, at least not long term.

If you have two hands please applaud Jeff Kepner, his successful surgeries and the doctors that made this all possible.

I find the double hand transplant less surprising than the face transplant I heard about recently.

As an organ donor, I think I will opt not to think about it too much.
