Stand Up Special
In January I shot a standup special for Logo called ONE NIGHT STAND UP: The Ladies of AfterEllen, with comedic geniuses Cat Davis, Gloria Bigelow, Liz Feldman and Jennie McNulty. If you missed the show on tv Logo has also posted two different versions online for you to view.
My set is last so if you want to see me you'll have to skip ahead but I recommend watching all the performers. I performed 40 minutes and below are links to view the 10 clean minutes and 10 dirty minutes that made it into the show. All my jokes on Prop 8, Mariah Carey, Swine Flu, the Disney-vault, me pouring a full bottle of water on myself, me humping the audience were cut from the final version so hopefully you'll enjoy the jokes that were chosen.
I recommend the Uncensored version.
And here is the G-rated version.

WTF Perez?
If you haven't heard the self proclaimed "Queen of All Media", Perez Hilton, is in a war with Black Eyed Peas' founder, will.i.am, and GLAAD.
Perez called will.iam a gay-slur and in returned got punched in the face. Then GLAAD got involved and reprimanded Perez for using a hate word. The dramarama continues and I was asked to weigh in on the matter.

5 Things I Am Looking Forward To
No matter how you feel about Michael Jackson or Farrah Fawcett, these two artists have changed our culture and I feel badly for their mourning family and friends.
Since every channel is airing a biography on one of them I can't escape the sadness so I decided to make a list of: 5 Things I Am Looking Forward To!
(in no particular order)
#1 The next Harry Potter movie: HP and the Half Blood Prince. My cloak is ironed and ready.
#2 My sister's wedding. I bought my bridesmaid dress and tear-free mascara.
#3 Decorating my porch with plants and flowers. They have to be fake or plants I can't kill easily.
#4 My wife's birthday. Endless presents for the princess.
#5 California Gay Marriage on the 2010 Ballot. Fingers crossed it will turn out right this time.

WTF is Obama Defending DOMA for?
My friend Dara Nai is the editor in chief at the new gay website Ourscenetv.com.
Dara asked me to write a blog about Obama's administration defending the DOMA, the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act, a law he promised to repeal when he was running for president. It states that ONLY marriage exists between a man and a woman.
Please check out my blog and leave a comment. :)

p.s. Is that Halle Joel Osmond?

BRUNCH WITH GHOSTELLA HERSELF
In today's BRUNCH I'm in bed Ghostella's Haunted Tomb star Heidi Martinuzzi!
Heidi is the founder of Pretty-Scary.Net, a film site for women in horror, by women in horror.
With my assistance, Heidi gives a tutorial on shooting the infamous horror shower scene, explains why romantic comedies are just like slasher films and finally announces to the world that she is in fact GAY (even though she really isn't).
Confused? Then watch the episode figure it all out.

Wanda on LATE NIGHT
I love Wanda Sykes and I also appreciate Jay Leno but last night on LATE NIGHT I was very disappointed with Wanda's interview on the show.
It's wonderful that Wanda has "come out" and is acting like a gay leader because gay visability truly matters but I'm wondering is it too little too late? Where was Wanda before the passage of Prop 8? She DID speak out against gay discrimination and her support of gay marriage BUT she didn't make any big announcements, like her being gay and married to a woman, to help support the cause or get people to change their conservative minds until after the vote and everything was said and done.
During last night's LATE NIGHT interview, Wanda and Jay discussed prop 8, a day without a gay and Jay (who is gay friendly) joked that he made Wanda gay because he hit on her.
Jay also joked that if lesbian couples went to straight men's houses and had sex in front of them then maybe straight men would support gay marriage. ummm...what?
I do realize this comment was made in jest and I hate being a stereotypical critical lesbian but I was truly offended by that remark. The entire point of prop 8 and gay equality is that we don't want to be discriminated against and treated differently. Do you think if Ben Affleck was the guest Jay would ask Ben and his wife, Jennifer Garner, to go "make-love" on some stranger's floor?
I want my relationship to be respected just like I respect straight couples relationships. My monogamous lesbian relationship shouldn't be disregarded as a straight guys fantasy of long haired long nailed femmes.
Once again, I commend Wanda for spending her interview time discussing gay issues. But it would have been helpful to promote an organization that is currently fighting back to overturn prop 8 like the COURAGE CAMPAIGN. LATE NIGHT has a huge audience and if the gay and gay friendly people knew where to go now with their donations and support then it could really make a difference.
p.s. I truly respect Wanda and Jay. I'm just overly sensitive when if comes to me and my wife's civil rights.

Gay Adoption in Florida
CNN.COM has just reported that a Florida circuit judge declared it unconstitutional to prevent gays and lesbians from adopting children, saying "the blanket exclusion" of gay applicants "defeated Florida's goal of providing dependent children a permanent family."
Florida is the only state that specifically bans all "homosexual" people from adopting children, although it does allow them to be foster parents.
This month, Arkansas voters approved a ballot measure to prohibit unmarried partners -- same-sex or opposite-sex couples -- from adopting children or from serving as foster parents.
Obviously, I'm biased when it comes to this stuff but I think the main concern for everyone should be the children. Children need love and support to grow into upstanding citizens or... lesbian comedians and it shouldn't matter who parents as long as the children are cared for.

BRUNCH with Maile Flanagan & Maeve Quinlan
Good morning kiddies! Technically it's 11:20 PM on Saturday November 15 but in other parts of the world it is indeed the morning.
My 40th episode of BRUNCH has just been posted on Afterellen! YIPPPEEE! This week I'm in the sack with the lovely actresses from 3Way, Mrs. Maile Flanagan & Ms. Maeve Quinlan. The girls and I discuss Maile's Emmy win, Maeve's South of Nowhere dream sequences, gay travel and most importantly 3Way. OH, and I forgot to mentioned the guns and knives, silly me.

I look gay
This morning I put on a pair of track shorts, an old teeshirt, threw my hair in a messy pony tail and went for a walk. After I was finished I stopped at Starbucks for a grande unsweetened ice coffee (my favorite) and started walking home. I crossed the street and a beautiful african american woman in a suit came up to me and said, "Do you know where there is a Coffee Bean store?"
I responded, "Well, there is a Starbucks right behind us." And shook my cup in the air indicating that's where I purchased my amazing beverage only moment ago.
She said, "Thanks! The reason I stopped you was because I knew you would know since you're gay. And I'm gay too by the way. See you later."
umm...what? She knew I was gay? Did she know I was gay because of my appearance or because I was rockin the Starbucks which is AWESOME and gay people are AWESOME. Basic math would say that AWESOME + AWESOME = Super AWESOME!
I'm still confused by my street meeting but the moral of the story is: I look gay and I'm proud of that.
