California Earthquake

If you don't already know there was a 5.4 earthquake in Los Angeles, California today.

If I hadn't already used the restroom right before it happened I would have pissed myself.

I hope you're okay! I'd rather have to deal with earthquakes than tornados though. That's what we get and those are scary as anything.

Hope all is well with you! And I'm sorry it caused you to almost pee your pants! ha

And that is why I vow to stay in CT. Thunderstorms scare me enough.

Yikes! I think I prefer tornadoes from the standpoint that you usually have warning before it hits. But then I live in the foothills of Colorado, just close enough to the mountains that tornadoes are unlikely to touch down here. While an earthquake is possible pretty much anywhere, we're not on a fault line, so the worse things we have to worry about are blizzards...which again you get notice they're coming...usually.

always thought FLA had it best because we get hurricane watches/warnings in advance. UNTIL some of my friends in North FL felt a quake from there to virginia.

I live in NYC but am visiting mom in the valley this week. I went to bed the night before wondering if there'd ever be an earthquake while I was here and what a coincidence that would be (random, I know, but it's something I think about each time I visit). Then the next morning...I slept through the earthquake*!! Meanwhile my mom, at work 5 miles away, felt it. Perhaps it's a good thing I didn't feel it or else I might've wet the bed.

* yes, I was asleep at noon. I've on vacation...leave me alone!
